Chloe Ridolfo
Voice Faculty
Hello! My name is Chloe Ridolfo, and I’m so excited to be joining the Houston Voice Studio faculty. As a teacher, my goal is to help singers build confidence, take pride in their artistry, and develop a strong technical foundation in a safe and supportive environment. I believe every singer deserves to feel ownership over their voice, and I love giving students practical tools to help them understand how their instrument works while also cheering them on as they grow.
My teaching style is encouraging, individualized, and rooted in meeting each singer exactly where they are. Over my teaching career, I’ve worked with students ranging from early childhood through adulthood, and I love adapting lessons to each singer’s learning style, goals, and personality. Whether a student is brand new to singing, preparing for an audition, working toward a performance, or refining their technique, I aim to create a lesson space that feels focused, collaborative, and empowering.
My own training spans both musical theater and opera, which allows me to help singers build versatility across styles. In lessons, I often focus on breath support, registration, resonance, and helping singers move smoothly through different areas of the voice, whether they are working on belt, mix, legit musical theater, classical repertoire, or contemporary styles. I also believe that strong singing and strong storytelling go hand in hand. I love helping students connect to the text of their songs, make clear acting choices, and use dynamics, vocal color, and musical phrasing to bring their performances to life.
I’ve loved singing for as long as I can remember. I joined my school choir in third grade, while receiving vocal and dance training at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, I performed in my first musical, Once Upon a Mattress. From there, I continued performing in musicals and singing in choir throughout high school before moving to Texas to pursue my formal training. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre and my Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from West Texas A&M University.
During my time at WTAMU, I performed in a wide range of musical theater and operatic productions. Some of my favorite roles include Woman 2 in Songs for a New World, Countess Charlotte in A Little Night Music, Adolfo Pirelli in Sweeney Todd, Buttercup in H.M.S. Pinafore, and Anita in La Navarraise. After graduating, I made my Carnegie Hall debut while studying with the Manhattan Opera Studio, and I continue to perform in theatrical productions throughout Houston.
In addition to teaching and performing, I’ve also worked as a music director and pit conductor for productions such as She Loves Me and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Collaborating with live musicians has been one of the great joys of my career, and I love helping singers learn how to communicate musically, listen actively, and feel confident working with accompanists, pit musicians, and creative teams.
My experience as an Early Development Teacher and Special Education Aide has also deeply shaped the way I teach. I try to bring patience, flexibility, creativity, and the fullness of my own life experience into the lesson room, because I truly believe that all of our experiences can make us more thoughtful artists.
Outside of teaching and performing, I love singing karaoke with my spouse, crocheting, reading, and watching TV while snuggling with my two cats, Hades and Goose. My absolute favorite movie is How to Train Your Dragon, and my dream vacation would be a cruise to Greece. I also love keeping up with Duolingo streaks with my friends- right now I’m learning French!
